Lance Clute, President

As President of Power Line Services, Lance Clute is responsible for the expert, safe, and ethical daily operations of the company, as well as overseeing its business development, strategic planning, and financial management.

Over the last three decades, Lance has held various leadership and upper management positions in utility and electrical power line companies. His previous experience includes electric power transmission and distribution, substation, power grid, power line, and storm response services with ABB, Indianapolis Power and Light, and PAR Electric.

Lance received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University. He is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) and certified Project Management Professional (PMP).

Danny Leigh, Vice President of Finance

Danny Leigh is Power Line Services’ Vice President of Finance. In this role, he is responsible for the company’s financial well-being, which includes appropriate process improvement, strategic planning, change management, financial analysis and reporting, forecasting, internal controls, and operations management.

Danny has over twenty years of extensive financial experience with proven trade and leadership skills. His most recent roles in upper management include serving as vice president of Finance for BRACE Industrial Group, as well as Chief Financial Officer for Dyna Energetics.

He received a Bachelor of Business Administration with a focus in Finance from Texas State University in San Marcos.

John Gray, Director of Substation Construction

John Gray joined Power Line Services in April 2018 as Director of Substation Construction. In this role, he is responsible for quality utility substation construction that is safely delivered on time and within budget. This includes a diligent focus and respect of industry standards and health, safety, and environmental.

John entered the construction industry in 1997 after completing welding coursework at Trinity Valley Community College. Prior to joining Power Line Services, he successfully fulfilled construction-focused roles, including shop foreman and general superintendent.

C.J. Burling, Director of Safety

As Director of Safety, Mr. Burling is directly responsible for all aspects of safety management at Power Line Services. These duties include code enforcement, OSHA partnership, safety auditing, safety metrics and reporting and incident investigation and reporting. He ensures timely accountability for employee safety training so that the necessary resources are available and in place to support safe field operations.

Mr. Burling received his Masters of Aeronautical Science degree with a dual specialization in Aviation Business Management & Aviation Safety Systems from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He is also board certified as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Utility Safety Professional (CUSP), Certified Electrical Safety Compliance Professional (CESCP), Certified Safety & Health Manager (CSHM), Certified Safety Management Practitioner (CSMP) and as a certified Safety Trained Supervisor-Construction (STS-C). His background is comprised of 13 years of experience in Government & Infrastructure, Commercial & Industrial, Electrical Transmission & Distribution, Substation, Environmental Clean Up and Underground Electric & Gas Operations.

Before joining Power Line Services, Mr. Burling provided safety expertise for Willbros T & D Services West and International Line Builders. He worked hand in hand with the senior management teams for both Oncor and Southern California Edison to ensure that safety expectations were exceeded and maintained. Most recently he was the Safety Manager for Willbros T & D Services West in Fort Worth, Texas where he was responsible for overseeing multiple overhead and underground distribution projects that spanned across the entire state of Texas and into parts of Oklahoma.
