Into The Fire – Valor in Action Receives High Accolades
March 7, 2020

Lifesaving Valor Award Winners : Power Line Services (winners, left to right) Kody Bluford, Codi Elam, Jacob Willis, Mark VornKahl, Branden Diplock, Chad Frost with Mark Crowson and Elsie Bentley.
As François de La Rochefoucauld once said; “Perfect valor is to do without witnesses what one would do before all the world.” In the direst of situations, that is what we all hope for; for ourselves and to see in others. In late 2019, five men who work for Power Line Services, were just that—compelled by pure valor. The PLS crew were working on a line maintenance project when a recreational vehicle swerved across the road, hit the line they were working on, and rolled another 75 feet … then caught on fire. Without hesitation, they all rushed to the vehicle and pulled the driver out just before the front of the RV was engulfed in flames.
At the end of January 2020 during PLH Group’s Management Meeting, Safety Awards were presented and the crews at Power Line Services were honored with the Lifesaving Valor Award. Recognition of service and ‘above and beyond’ actions—especially in their legacy of safety—is the energy that feeds performance at PLH Group.
In a culture of high expectations, Power Line Services exceeded those expectations and PLH Group is proud to honor and recognize them, as well as all the men and women who will demonstrate valor, safety, and excellence—modeling who they are, as well as the way they do business at PLH Group.
