Orientation & Training

Power Line Services offers apprenticeships, DOL safety programs, orientation programs, refresher courses, daily briefings and specific operator training courses.

Our OSHA partnership brings the PLH Group of companies and 12 other participating organizations under a common goal: the reduction of injuries, illnesses and deaths among linemen and other electrical workers.

All of our new employees attend an industry leading 3½ – 4 day orientation to review expectations relevant to Power Line Services tasks.

All of our Power Line Services supervisory employees will have completed, at minimum:

New‐Employee Orientation

OSHA 30‐hour and/or a combination of OSHA 10‐hour training and PLS Foreman’s Academy or OSHA 20‐hour

All field employees will have completed,
at minimum:

New‐Employee Orientation; and

OSHA 10‐hour training

In addition, at least two employees per crew have up‐to‐date training in First‐Aid/CPR.

Our Apprenticeship Program includes 8,000 on-the-job hours, plus classroom training, that is why our teams are so highly experienced and safety-conscious. Graduates receive nationally recognized U.S. Department of Labor certifications.
